Adapt (Association for International and Comparative Studies in Labour Law and Industrial Relations) supports the Healthy Workplaces Campaign 2010-11, promoted by the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA), to animate and help European stakeholders (employers, trade unions, workers, safety representatives, practitioners, preventive services, policy makers) in creating healthy workplaces.

Adapt’s strong points in the Campaign
Adapt is an association embracing the most important social partners associations and several national and multinational companies.
Adapt network is also based on strong partnerships with international academics, universities and OSH public bodies at national, european and international level.
Adapt staff is composed by 30 researchers and 100 Phd students.
Adapt has got a newsletter banking on more than 8.000 members (among which employers, trade unions, workers, safety representatives, practitioners, preventive services, policy makers, academics, students, researchers, companies, HR managers, public bodies).
Adapt permanently implements an on-line observatory on New Jobs and New risks.
Adapt, between 2008 and 2010 has promoted and organized more than 10 national/international events (i.e. workshops, conferences, international symposiums and seminars) on OSH-related issues.
Adapt, between 2007 and 2010, awarded 3 research projects on different OSH issues at national, international and comparative level. Two of them were funded by the Italian Ministry of Labour and the other one was funded by the European Commission.
Adapt’s effort in supporting and joining the Campaign
Through its network, its website, its newsletter, its observatory and its group of experts and researchers Adapt supports the following activities:
Disseminate information to affiliated organisations and network partners;
Disseminate Campaign material;
Disseminate Campaign press releases and news;
Promote the Good Practice Awards and encourage nominations.
On the website
Promote the Campaign by placing information on your website;
Provide a link to the Campaign Website via the Healthy Workplaces Campaign Flash Banner.
At meetings
Give visibility to the Campaign
by using the posters, PowerPoint presentations, NAPO cartoon films and
disseminating Campaign fact sheets, checklists, reports and other Campaign
material;
Discuss the Campaign at meetings;
Invite an Agency speaker to support it and/or ask the Agency for expert speakers.
Develop its own activities
Review its own health and safety polices in the area of the Campaign topic and beyond – to make workplaces safer and healthier;
Engage with its own partners to get the message across;
Encourage its network members and affiliates to carry out activities during the Healthy Workplaces Campaign and during the European Weeks;
Encourage national network members to promote activities and partnerships in their Member State and to make contact with their national Focal Point.
Ideas for action
Organise conferences, seminars and workshops;
Organise trainings for network members;
Produce a best practice video or multimedia DVD;
Let people know what we’re doing.
